2-Hour Intro Wheel Throwing Pottery Class

Learn to throw on the potters wheel in this fun two-hour class! 

This two-hour class will kick off with a brief run-through of the ceramic process followed by a demonstration on the wheel by your instructor, Austin Cook. After the demo, it's time to have a go at throwing. Classes are small and intimate, allowing for lots of one on one teaching. Austin and Courtney together teach a small class size of 6.

Please note this class is upstairs on the second floor. Participants will need to be able to walk upstairs to attend class. 

Who’s it for?

This class is great for a date night, friend get-together, family night or trying something new on your own. Class offerings are for young adults and adults, 15 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What will I learn?

During this workshop, you will learn how to throw a vessel on the potter's wheel. This includes how to center your clay, as well as how to open your clay, compress the bottom and pull up your walls.

What will I make?

During this 2-hour pottery class, you will have the opportunity to make two (or more) vessels on the wheel. Most students end up making a small cup and/or a small bowl. 

What to bring?

You won’t need to bring anything with you. We just ask that you arrive 10 minutes early, wear clothes you won't mind getting a little muddy, and leave any valuable jewelry (rings, watches) at home. Feel free to BYOB. 

What's Included?

All clay, tools, glazing, and firing are included in the cost of the class. After the workshop, our studio staff will fire and glaze your vessels in our house glazes of your selection.

Pick Up & Delivery

It will take us about 4-6 weeks to fire and glaze your work. You'll receive an email from us as soon as your pieces are ready for pickup. If you're from out of town, shipping can be arranged for an additional charge. Pots will be held no longer than 1 month.

Cancellations

Due to small class sizes, and being unable to quickly fill spots, all tickets are non-refundable. The best way to let us know if you can't make your class on short notice is to text Courtney at 719-659-2410.
